Castaneda to Arzua

Total distance today = 6.2 miles
Total ascent = 197 feet
Cumulative distance = 466.3 miles

Today we sauntered to the big town of Arzua. I say saunter because we only had six miles to travel, so we took our sweet time.

We left the lovely estate of Pazo de Sedor at the late hour of 10am, walking down the long driveway, past the herd of cows

and rejoined the Camino in Castaneda.
Since all three signs agree, I think we are safely back on the Camino.

Walking through the village we passed this lovely little home, and three cows in the side yard.

The first half hour we walked on country roads and saw this drawing at one intersection.
Not sure if someone was expressing artistic abilities or memorializing the spot where a peregrino was hit by a car.

We were soon on a senda and were swarmed by mountain bikes just before we started the modest hill of the day.

At the top of the hill we looked back onto last night's hotel (we had basically circled around it)
The hotel is just to the left of David's shoulder.

About an hour into our hike we came to another medieval bridge over rio Iso.

There we met a group of students from the University of Miami. They are here as part of a course on Spanish history. They had just joined the Camino in Melide. We walked with them into Arzua just after noon, our ending point for today. We did a little shopping for water, drinks and snacks, and naproxen then headed for our hotel. We've spent the rest of the afternoon with our feet up, preparing for the last two days (26 miles) into Santiago de Compestela. We are so close!
